Update

In case some of you were wondering what happened to me in the past few days... when blog posts became evidently nonexistent, i have actually been preparing for the two biggest exams preceding my postgraduate application requirements for the states. The TOEFL is a ridiculous english exam which i need to take to prove i can speak english legitimately =_= because ridiculous american universities have such stringent rules and are unable to compromise unlike other universities in the United Kingdom or in Aussie.

The other exam is the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) which must be taken by all gradute applicants regardless of nationality (yes, even americans have to take them) and i have so CLEVERLY registered for both exams with a one week gap in between them! LOL. Way to go, putting myself into a pile of crap all by myself, whooo! My TOEFL was this past weekend, on the 29th and my GRE is next week thursday =_=

Actually i had preferred if the TOEFL was scheduled later in April after my GRE exam, but for some strange reason no TOEFL exams were scheduled in the month of April in Malaysia or Singapore! O_O

Anyhoo, i have been prepping for my GREs which have a few sections in it: the Verbal Killer, the Quantitative Nightmare and the Analytical Wringing Writing. Of these, the one i obviously have difficulty with is the Quantitative Nightmare - maths, maths and more MATHS! All the math concepts that i have learnt throughout high school seemed to have been locked up in a chest and thrown in the sea somewhere... everything seems fuzzily familiar, and i find myself saying "hey, i've done this before... now how was it again...." A LOT. I have been so caught up trying to refresh my memory of these concepts that right now i'm neglecting my writing and my verbal section terribly.

ah, such is my fear for maths.

So the TOEFL. Right, i was one of the youngest people at the testing centre on Sunday, aside from this korean girl who waltzed in wearing slippers, shorts and a pajama tee.... (she honestly looked as if someone dragged her straight from bed and lodged her there between the couch cushions in the waiting hall) there were a few working people (obviously working, because no one would wear a SUIT or FORMAL-WEAR to an english exam...) and finally me, the last to arrive. Incredibly, though the registration time was at 9.30am, i reached *maybe* just 10-15 minutes after that and was the last one to register and yet i turned out to be the FIRST one allowed in to the exam room to sit for the exam!

i botched the speaking section of it though... i have a tendency to stutter sometimes when i'm nervous, and i was preeeetty nervous.... i only registered for the exam 4 days BEFORE! O_O needless to say, my preparation was close to none as well =_=. hence the stuttering. and given that we're only allowed 15 seconds to THINK about how to answer verbally to the topic right after it's given and 45 seconds to talk about it, i didn't have enough time to finish saying my sentence! =/ Plus on top of all that, i was the FIRST to leave the exam hall, more than an HOUR earlier than the expected time of completion! O_O

crapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrap maybe i should have stayed longer...

well... hopefully the other sections of the exam pulled me back up. i was always more focused on the GRE and not the TOEFL, with GOOD reason too. the GRE is the main exam which would be one of the four deciding criteria on whether or not i'll be accepted in to my university of choice. ergo the minimal amount of time spent blogging, shopping, etc right now... going out actually is painful because i can actually feel the magnetic pull towards my dining table where i study... argh!

anyway this is just a short update of what i'm doing. no worries, i am not at a standstill with my blogging, just otherwise preoccupied at the moment. I went on a road trip with a few besties and that post is yet to be published... plus we're still waiting for pictures from our esteemed photographer EUJIN! *hint hint*. After next week Thursday, my blogging will resume and soon after that, i'll have SUPER DUPER HAPPY blog posts! why you ask? because my Christmas pressie is finally going to be delivered to me!! in person! whee~! =p

adieu~!
