City Heat

Dear God,

Please take away the sweltering heat and save earth from evil, greed and pollution

Just make it rain more, thanks.

The earth is undoubtedly vindictive these days. I just took a shower literally less than half a minute ago and already i see droplets of perspiration on my forehead. UNBELIEVABLE. Honestly i wonder how i even managed to live this long in this country when i complain about the heat almost every other day. No wonder i'm getting a headache =_=. But honestly, i will never understand how some people can be so used to this weather that they can even sleep without a ceiling fan at night~! (The weather here is on average 90 degrees Fahrenheit with a 60% humidity level). I myself am much more chirpy at night because it's so much more cooling.

Sometimes i wish i was a male, then i wouldn't have to dress up in layers of clothes and i could have the luxury to walk around in just a pair of boxers. Hmph.

On another note, i have been lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of Cecilia Ahern's P.S. I Love You (thanks Christine dear!) but reading it in the afternoon poses such a problem because not only am i already feeling lethargic due to the heat, i am also now addicted to this new tv series that i discovered on Hallmark - Army Wives! By the same people who created Grey's Anatomy comes this new series about the lives of 5 army wives (although, technically there are 4 wives and 1 husband whose wife is a high ranking officer in the Army). I absolutely love the series!

Aside from the sometimes annoying (i've learnt to filter it) North Carolina accent with one of the wives, the storyline is very intriguing and shows a lot of insight in to these women's lives dealing with their husbands who come and go due to deployment and military missions. Hah, i have even learnt a few military jargons now! (Poofiekins, you should be proud of me!) i now know what C.O, X.O, PFT, MOS, DoD all mean, among other things. Hah! (Not that i'll ever use it...). One thing about this series that i absolutely LOVE is that it emphasises the importance of the bonds of familial love and trust among spouses. And the best thing is that they always eventually have a happy ending after an episode or two (or three), unlike a lot of the tv series these days that always seem to enjoy adding ANGST and MELODRAMA. I could do enough of that already... i want to know more happy endings =)

Ooh, recently i also got a chance to watch Marley and Me with Chu and Alfie. Thanks guys! It was absolutely worth the watch. To those who own dogs, breed dogs or just love dogs in general, this movie is a MUST watch. I loved every minute of the movie and not once did i even notice the passing time, which is very good because normally when i watch movies, i normally glance at the clock every now and then - hoping for the movie to end soon. Marley and Me got me totally ENGROSSED, and i will even admit that i was tearing at the end... only because i could not imagine the situation happening to me and either of my dogs. All in all, it was one of the best movies i've watched in a long while.
